Hurtig, Louis A., 89, retired Merck Pharmaceutical Company professional representative, 50 year resident of Dodge City, currently of Wichita, died Thursday, March 26, 2009. Rosary 6:30 P.M., Monday, March 30, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Wichita. Rosary 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 31 and Funeral Mass 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 1, both at Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Dodge City, KS. Louis was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Optimist Club in Dodge City. Preceded in death by infant son, Lawrence Anthony Hurtig, brother, Henry Hurtig, sisters, Margaret Loch, Clare Peeso, Eunice Hurtig and Rosemarie Rinner. Survivors: wife, Marian (Ober) Hurtig; son, Tony Hurtig, Jr. (Kim) of Wichita; daughter, Mary Louise Smith (Walynn) of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Bryan, Shane and Lara Anne Smith and Heidi and Andy Hurtig. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Optimist Club of Dodge City, c/o Marilyn Weber, 1400 7th, Dodge City, KS, 67801 and Cathedral of Our Lady of Guadalupe, 3231 N. 14th, Dodge City, KS, 67801.
