Mildred Anna (Strobel) Balog, born in Rochester, PA on April 5, 1927 and died July 9, 2016. She was the cherished wife of John Balog for 65 years. She was predeceased by her father, Frank, and mother, Katherine Strobel, her two sisters and three brothers. She was a devoted mother to Celeste Balog (Wes Miller), Stephen Balog (Joan), Gary Balog and Joseph Balog (Cheryl). She rejoiced in her eight grandchildren, Alyssa, Travis and Thomas Rosenbloom, Marcus and Valerie Balog, Alison, Andrew and Brooke Balog, and her great-granddaughter, McKinley Rosenbloom. Mildred began her career as a secretary at the Pentagon during the closing days of World War II. John and Mildred were long-time residents of Northern Virginia, and recently moved to Wichita to be closer to family. She was always active in her church, a loyal friend, a great bowler and Scrabble enthusiast. She will be forever missed by all who loved her. Rosary is 9:00 am Thursday and Funeral Mass to follow at 9:30 both at St. Elizabeth Chapel, Catholic Care Center. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to Starkey, 4500 W. Maple, Wichita, KS 67209.
