Edward Ed Phannenstiel

BENTON - Phannenstiel, Edward, 95, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013. He was born to Ludwig and Johanna (Dreher) Phannenstiel on December 4, 1917 in Munjor, KS. He attended Hays High School and six years at Thomas More Prep-Marion. He married Rose Pfeifer on January 27, 1941. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force. He worked at Westar Energy for 29 years and retired in 1982. He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers, Alex, Ted, Julius, and Francis; and 3 sisters, Regina Ray, Sr. Audry, and Eleanor Binder. Survivors are his wife, Rose, of the home; 1 sister, Mildred Walters; 1 sister-in-law, Velma Phannenstiel; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Andover. Visitation and vigil service will be at 7:00 P.M., Sunday, July 14, 2013, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will be at Resurrection Cemetery. A memorial has been established with St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 123 N. Andover Rd., Andover, KS 67002. Downing Lahey Mortuary East.
