Ronald L. Stone

Stone, Ronald L., passed away on October 28th, 2014, at the age of 70, following a brief battle with cancer, which he faced with characteristic stoicism. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 8, 2014, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Wichita, KS. Ron was born in Akron, Ohio. He attended the University of Akron, then served in the Army as a 1st Lieutenant, including a tour in Viet Nam. He graduated from the University of Akron School of Law, and spent his career working in the field of corporate law, for which he traveled extensively, initially in the oil industry in Louisiana, then for Boeing Wichita and eventually Spirit AeroSystems before retiring earlier this year. Ron was an avid reader, and amassed an impressive book collection. In retirement, he enjoyed daily walks, spending time with his wife, Kathy, and “furkids” Kirby and Bagby. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ann Stone. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Stone of Wichita, KS; daughter, Robyn Stone (Peter Maharry) of Olathe, KS; sister, Pam Sweeney (Chuck); niece, Toni Metzger; and nephew, Chucky Sweeney, all of Ohio. Ron was an intelligent, hardworking, selfless husband and father who will be deeply missed. A memorial has been established with Kansas City Retired Greyhounds as Pets, P.O.
