Robert A. “Bob” Adrian, 90, died March 27, 2017. He was born on June 16, 1926 in Wichita, KS to Wayne and Esther Adrian. He served in the United States Navy during WWII, returning home in 1946 to marry Donna Hinderliter, his high school sweetheart. Bob graduated from the University of California in 1952 with a pharmacy degree. He was a business owner, owning his own drug store until 1972, when he became partial owner of a stockbrokerage firm. In 1978 he changed careers again, when he purchased what was eventually to become North American Graphics, a motivational poster publishing company, working there until his retirement in 1991. Bob was a caring and generous husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. When his grandchildren and great-grandchildren were babies, you could always find them in grandpas arms or sleeping on his chest. In later years, Bob cared lovingly for his wife, Donna, until her death last May from Alzheimers. Bob loved animals, but especially cats and his backyard squirrels who he trained to eat nuts off his shoulders. Bobs life-long passion was playing duplicate bridge. He became a life masters in 1959, and was still playing regularly at the Wichita Duplicate Bridge Center until his death. He loved jazz and reading, and had a large book collection on many different topics. Bob was a witty man with a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna. Survived by his daughter, Patti (Richard) Clevenger of Wichita; sons, Scott Adrian of Maize, KS, Kent (Anne) Adrian of Lakeland, FL; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren. Memorials to: Alzheimers Association, Central & Western Kansas, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67214. Memorial Service will be at 3:00 P.M., Thursday, April 27, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
