Georgette Hourani

Georgette Farha Hourani, born February 23, 1923 in Marjeyoun, Lebanon to Jamil and Wadia Farha. She went to be with her Savior on July 11, 2016. Georgette and her late husband, Adib, raised their family in Lebanon before moving to Wichita in 1985 to be closer to their children and Georgettes siblings. Family and God were paramount to Georgette, and she dedicated her life to both without reservation. She was an excellent cook who shared her talents often, hosting regular meals for her children and grandchildren, and also helping for many years with the Annual Lebanese Dinner at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral, where she was a devoted parishioner. Georgette also enjoyed the outdoors, and spent many afternoons walking and tending to her garden. Georgette is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Adib Hourani; son, Oussama Hourani; brothers and sisters, Nazek Rashid, Nazmieh Farha, Fayez Farha, Souad Shadid, Violette Ammar and Dr. George Farha. She is survived by her sons, Elias (Donna) Hourani, M.D., Alif (Brigitte) Hourani, Ph.D., Basil (Patricia) Hourani; daughter-in-law, Diana Hourani; brother, S. Jim Farha, M.D.; grandchildren, Patrick (Erin), Stefan, Christina (Blake), Christian (Stefanie), Andrew, Dona (Rabih), Dana (Zeid), Adib, Jad, Mark, Roman; great-grandchildren, Owen, Giana, Nora, Colette, Sam, Sari, Zoe. Trisagion & Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016, at St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral. Graveside Service is at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 15, 2016, at Old Mission Cemetery. Memorials have been established with St. George Orthodox Christian Cathedral, 7515 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67206; Larksfield Place, 7373 E. 29th St. N., Wichita, KS 67226.
