Fortin, Dorothy F., 92, homemaker, died Sunday July 12, 2009. Rosary service will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday July 15, 2009, at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday July 16, 2009 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Herman Fortin. Survivors include sons and spouses, David Eugenia, of Chesnee, S.C., George Patty, of Eugene, OR, John LuAnn, of Seattle, WA, Michael, of Rogers, AR, Joseph Margerite, of Wichita; daughters and spouses, Mary Phillip Leahy, of Goddard, Elizabeth Barnhart, of St. Louis, MO, Jean Marie Robert Sullivan, of Rogers, AR, Margaret James Posey, of Winchester, TN, Catherine Harold Johnson, of Wichita, Barbara James Bennett, of Wichita; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with Catholic Charities, 532 N. Broadway, Wichita, Kansas, 67214.

It is with love, my sons, Eric, Kevin, and Christopher Fortin, and I, Helen (Fortin) Probasco will remember their Grandmother Dorothy as the ‘beautiful’ person she was-‘inside and out’. Her recipes will always be the ‘favorites’ in our homes.

I have the most wonderful memories of visiting grandma. From hide-and-seek in a huge 3 story house, to catching fire-flies at the park or walks with 3 legged Barney. We’ll miss grandma for now, knowing we’ll see her again in eternal life.
Dorthy was a Grand Lady, I am proud that I could call her Mom. She is at home with Herman now and I know they are both happy and peaceful.
