Shaw, Ruth Jean (Keth), 75, home economist and homemaker, passed away Monday, July 12, 2010. The service will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 16, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Ruth was born in St. Louis, MO and grew up in Prairie Village, KS. She graduated from the University of Kansas where she joined the Tri Delta Sorority and at K.U. is where she met her husband of over 52 years, Richard C. Shaw, M.D. Through the years she volunteered for Womens Association of the Symphony, Wichita Center for the Arts, and Wichita Historical Museum. Ruth held offices in Wesley Childrens Committee, Wesley Womens Association, Twentieth Century Club, and P.E.O. Chapter I. She enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, gardening, reading, needlework, and her grandchildren. Ruth found much pleasure in traveling all around the world with her husband. Ruth is survived by her husband, Richard and three sons, Robert of St. Louis, MO, James (Jane) and grandchildren, Casey, Austin and Winnie of Wichita and John (Letty) and grandchildren, Molly, Emily and Ian of Hutchinson, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 1958 N. Webb, Wichita, KS, 67206 and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS, 67202.   1. Carole and I met Ruth only once, that on a whirl-wind trip to Las Vegas (where we live). What a lovely lady and she really had a good time and let her hair down in Vegas. Richard, this is a tough time. Your strength from the church will be invaluable. Warmets regards and fond memories. Carole and Norm Terry (Norm was Richards roommate and true pal at Wentworth Military Academy in the early 1950’s — write THAT down. (That was pre-Ruth)

  2. You have our deepest sympathy Richard. We were shocked wehn we saw it in the paper as we never knew Ruth was ailing. We will miss her deting in front of us at church. I ws planning on atending the funeral today but this weather has been bad on my legs and today wss a bad day. God Bless You
