Dennis R. Hemken

Dennis R. Hemken, 67, retired Boeing finance analyst, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2015. Dennis served in the U.S. Navy/Reserve retiring as a Sr. Chief Petty Officer, served on the Newman University Alumni Board, was a choir member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, a core volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, and enjoyed photography, horsemanship and growing orchids. Rosary, 7 p.m., Friday, July 17; Funeral Mass, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 18, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Venda Hemken. Survivors: wife, Linda Sue; children, Dennis Ray, Jr. of Portland, OR, Elmer Carl of Wichita, John Edward of Cheney, Robert James of Prescott, David Michael of Wichita, Christopher Matthew of Oklahoma City, OK; siblings, Doris Gerik, Dolores Ewald, Diane Stump all of Wichita, David Hemken of Evergreen, CO, Debra Sontheimer of Waseca, MN and 15 grandchildren.
