Duane Francis Sanders, 72, retired transportation manager, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Duane was born in Hays, Kansas, on June 29, 1947, to the late Adolph and Lioba Sanders. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Larry Sanders. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; daughters, Amy (Rob) Goode of Manhattan, Rachelle (Jon) Grady of Valley Center; 5 grandchildren; sisters, Diane (Dennis) Flickner of Newton and Joyce (Glenn) Hoover of McPherson. Rosary, 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 28; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, February 29, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, 200 SE 1st St, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131 and Kindred Hospice, 9229 E. 37th St. N., #102B, Wichita, KS 67226 Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.

Dear Barbara and Family, We are saddened to learn of Duane’s passing. Larry is remembering the fun times he had when Duane and Tim shared apartments at Kansas State. Duane was a fun person! We enjoyed our friendship over the years . We know you will all miss him. Our hearts go out to you… so sorry for your loss. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Take care. Barb, I really feel sad about Duane and what a great guy and co-worker. As a neighbor I always felt like I should done more for you both. I really had plan on being at the Funeral. I have a terrible cold and want to expose anyone else to this stuff. I did call Leonard Schoenberber,Leland Prier,Karen Gilbert,Sandy H. and Jerry power from the Graves/ANR Freight days.
