Sharon Gallagher Miles, passed from this life to reap her heavenly reward in the company of her Savior and King, Jesus Christ, on July 13, 2015. Sharon was preceded by her father, Dr. Thomas A. Gallagher II, her stepfather, Lawrence C. Conner, her mother, Betty Jane Conner, her sisters, Mary Lou Lords and Linda Ris, and her nephew, Tim Lords. Sharon is survived by her husband, mate and confidant, Paul, her stepmother, Louisa Gallagher of Long Beach, CA, sister, Patricia Cates (Bruce) of Salinas, CA, brothers, Thomas Gallagher of Long Beach, CA, and Scott Conner (Kerry) of Monterey, CA. She is also survived by The Fairy Godmothers of Wichita. Sharon was born and grew up in the Southern California area and dearly loved her family, the ocean, and its beaches. Despite those attachments, she met and married Paul Miles and thereafter lived in Kansas City, Minneapolis and, for the last thirty years, in Wichita. She was an honors graduate of Wichita State University. She discovered her professional calling later in life and successfully served as a Development Director for the Kansas Humane Society, Wichita State University Foundation, Exploration Place and The Wichita Public Library Foundation. She was a member of and an active participant in the Association of Fundraising Professionals and was honored as Fundraising Executive of the Year for 2012. Sharon gave of her talents and energies freely, having volunteered at the Sedgwick County Zoo for over fifteen years and participated successfully in the efforts to add the Education Wing at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church. A Memorial Service for Sharon will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, July 18 at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 8011 W. 21st North in Wichita. She requested that, in lieu of flowers, gifts be made to The Wichita Public Library Foundation, 223 S. Main, Wichita, KS 67202. Downing Lahey Mortuary West.
