Chitwood, Sheila I., 64, homemaker and beautician, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010. Sheila loved others as we all should and will be missed by those that had the opportunity to know her heart. Visitation with the family, 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, April 5, Downing Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, Central Christian Church. Preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Irene Cole; brother, Larry Cole. Survivors: husband, Russell “Russ” Chitwood; children, Sheridan Sprouse (Chuck) of Haysville, Jenny Brown (Chad) of Tucson, AZ, Danny Chitwood of Wichita; granddaughter, Skyler. Memorials established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 and American Cancer Society, 818 N. Emporia, Suite 100, Wichita, KS 67214.

Dear Friends, I am sorry to learn of Sheila’s passing. I am so grateful that the Chitwood family was a part of Asbury Preschool. I have such wonderful memories of each of you. jenny- what a shock to hear about the loss of your mother-i have many many fond memories of spending weekends at your house during elementary school-i remember the wonderful cimmamon rolls she would fix for us-i pray that you find peace during this difficult time-you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers love-abbey isaac
My heart broke when I saw the beautiful picture of your Wife, Mother, and Grandmother in the paper. Words cannot describe the depth of my sympathy for your family. Mrs. Chitwood was the kindest person I will EVER cross paths with. I am so sorry. May you all find peace in time.
