Rita J. Goodwin, 88, retired Director of Retirement and Insurance for the City of Wichita, died Saturday, July 14, 2018. Rosary, 7 p.m., Friday, July 20; Funeral Mass, 10 a.m., Saturday, July 21, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ray Goodwin; parents, Marion and Mary Theresa Uhlschmidt; sisters, Toni “Kitty” Intravaia, Ann Uhlschmidt and Rose Berberich. Survivors: son, William “Bill” M. (Ellen) Goodwin of Cheney; daughter, Kimberly Kaye (Don) Bright of Benton, AR; grandchildren, Matthew, Patrick, Shawn, Veronica, Judith, Christi (Jeremy), Andrew (Kristi), Marianna; 12 great-grandchildren. Rita was a very sweet lady. She was a classy lady. Gene & Kim Mudd
Rita was a beautiful person who positively impacted so many people. She gave such wonderful caring advice to all who wanted it and so many who NEEDED it during her time at City Hall. As one grateful City employee, I thank her (too late) and thank you, her family, for sharing her with us for all those years. RIP Rita!
