Ronald Edward Swann

Ronald Edward Swann (1954-2018) passed July 15, 2018 at the home. Born June 1, 1954 in Overland Park, KS. Graduate of Shawnee Mission West High School 1972. Served four years in the United States Navy as aircraft maintenance technician at Whidbey Island, Washington until 1979. While there, Ron was involved with the Navigators ministry after he accepted Christ. In Wichita he worked for Beech Aircraft and later with the Kansas Air Guard at McConnell AFB on aircraft maintenance, retiring in 2003. Ron attended New Spring Church where he volunteered on the Disaster Relief Team. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Erma (Starks) Swann, and Selma Starks, an aunt who helped raise him. Ron is survived by his cousins, Anita DeLaTorre of Chanute, KS, Roberta Shahan of Yates Center, KS, Larry Rhea of Jefferson City, MO, Janet Crain of Lees Summit, MO, Marilyn McClure of Pleasant Hill, MO, Marla Dubois of Manassas, VA, Ann Ahlschwede of Cedar Falls, IA. Private Services will be held in Overland Park. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
