Smith, Donald Hoy, 85, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 3, 2005, after battling cancer. Mr. Smith, a former petroleum geologist, is survived by his wife, Ruth Monroe Smith, his three children, Arden Smith Murillo, Donald Hoy Smith, Jr., and David A. “Tod” Smith and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Samuel and infant daughter, Jane Elizabeth Smith. Visitation 7:00 ~ 9:00 P.M., Wednesday and service 2:00 P.M., Thursday, both at Downing Lahey Mortuary East. A memorial has been established with Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK, 73101-0036

Arden – I was very sorry to see your father’s obituary. My mother passed on Saturday, April 2, and both of their arrangements were at Downing & Lahey – so I found out on the web site. He was a very nice and gracious man – I remember him well in your old house behind the Lazy R. Hope everything is well with you – take care of yourself.
Donald Hoy Smith Jr. painted a picture of me in the early 70’s. I’d like to get in touch with him. I will try to attach a photo of the painting.
