Janelle Lynn (Jones) Wentz

GODDARD- Janelle Lynn (Jones) Wentz, 47, beloved wife and mother was called to heaven. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer. Janelle was born in Wichita on May 24, 1969, the daughter of Rodger and Carolyn Jones. She graduated from Wichita South High School and Kansas University. Janelle was married to Todd Wentz on October 5, 1996. Janelle spent her earlier years as the family manager and domestic engineer raising two kids and a husband. Later in life she found her calling as a Para educator with the Goddard School District. She spent many days and long hot weekends supporting her children in dance competitions or baseball tournaments. Janelle is survived by her husband, Todd; children, Brooke and Preston; grandmother, Teresa Jones of Wichita, parents, Rodger and Carolyn Jones of Wichita; brother, Todd (Kimberly) Jones of Overland Park; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Karl and Hazel Cecil and Lewis Jones. There will be a visitation from 3 p.m. 5 p.m. at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West Chapel followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 10, 2016 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Schulte. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 11, 2016, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with graveside to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
