Pauline K. Koehler

Pauline K. Koehler, 78, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2015 at the Catholic Care Center, Bel Aire, KS. Polly was born on July 22, 1937 in Birmingham, AL to Felix and Pauline (Bradford) King. She graduated from Birmingham Southern University with a Bachelor degree. She taught in Bessemer, AL, Hutchinson Catholic Schools, St. Patricks Catholic School, Kingman, and retired from Pretty Prairie High School in 1994. She and her husband Pat were heavily involved in the Wichita Diocese chapters of Marriage Encounter and Engaged Encounters where they made many friends. Polly loved to sew and knit as well as watch her grandchildren do anything at all! Polly is survived by her husband of 53 years, Pat; their three children, Betsy and Rick Graber, Suzy and Greg Strausberg, Doug and Stephanie Koehler; 12 grandchildren, Justin Blew, Luke and Jenessa Blew, Corey and Amber Graber, Ben Graber, Jake Graber, Melanie and Cory Harbaugh, Randy Goertz, Jake and Erica Goertz, Lauren Koehler, Alec Koehler, Elizabeth Leep, and Kristen Leep; seven great-grandchildren, Easton Goertz, Hannah Graber, Leigha Graber, Keeley Graber, Gavin Graber, Avery Harbaugh, and Bentley Harbaugh; her brother, David King; and two sisters, Nancy and Larry Holmes, and Ardelle King. Proceeding her in death were her parents; brother, Felix King; and great-granddaughter, Jayden Goertz. Rosary will be held on Wednesday, April 6th at 7:30 pm at the Church of the Resurrection, Bel Aire. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7th at 11:00 am at The Church of the Resurrection, Bel Aire. Burial at a later date.
