Arlene passed away on July 16, 2018, her 93rd birthday. She was laid to rest on July 19, 2018, next to her husband of 57 years, William H. VanDeventer, Sr., while surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Arlene is survived by her 4 children, William H. and wife, Cathy VanDeventer, Wichita, KS, Elaine and husband, Rick Zarley, Baldwin City, KS, Robert W. and wife, Pam VanDeventer, Andover, KS, and Cynthia L. Stewart, Shawnee, KS; grandchildren, Brian and wife, Ashley VanDeventer, Aundrea and husband, Chad Hanson, Nicholas VanDeventer and Elizabeth VanDeventer; great-grandchildren, Bowen and Caden VanDeventer and Braden, Carson and Claire Hanson. A Mass at 9:30 AM on August 5, 2018, at Church of the Magdalen in Wichita, KS, will be dedicated in her memory. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Many good memories of being neighbors with Bill & Arlene when our children were young. She will be in my prayers. May she rest in peace.
So sorry to hear of your loss. I remember all the camping trips when we were younger and all the fun we had. And my parents talking with Bill and Arlene forever about their gardens! Now they are all together again. Prayers to your family!
