Catalina A. Tejeda

Catalina A. Tejeda, 96, passed away peacefully November 6, 2017. Born February 20, 1921 in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan, Mexico. She worked for a Government Department in Zamora, Michoacan for 13 years before moving to Wichita, Kansas. Catalina married Ramon P. Tejeda (deceased) on September 13, 1952 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Wichita. Catalina was a member of the Hispanic Senior Center in North Wichita for many years where her favorite recreational games were Dominoes and Bingo, which carried on when she resided at the Catholic Care Center. She is survived by nieces, Sylvia (Steve) LaLonde of Wichita, Liz (Luis) Codina of Jerrambomberra, Australia; several nieces and nephews from the Tejeda, Martinez, and Alfaro families; great-nieces and nephews, Ingrid Mendoza (Daniel Dunnom) of Hilo, Hawaii, Ismael (Rachael) Mendoza of Canberra, Australia, Shanna LaLonde of Wichita; great-great-nieces and nephews, Isabella, Olivia and Harrison Mendoza of Canberra, Australia, Kevin Loman and Jordan LaLonde of Wichita. Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 13, 2017, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church.
