Frederick “Fred” Richard Wallace, 82, died Tuesday, September 22, 2020. Visitation, 1:00-2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 26, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West directly followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Fred was born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Dr. Wayne Sr. and Ruth (Keiffer) Wallace on December 23, 1937. He grew up in Atchison, Kansas. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1959 and while stationed in Maine, met his future bride, Mary Ann (McGraw) Wallace. The couple would move to Kansas with their first born. Fred retired after 35 years with Bombardier Learjet as an electrical engineer in Research and Design. Fred loved his family and especially loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; parents, Dr. Wayne Sr and Ruth Wallace; brothers, Bruce and Bill, and granddaughter, Alisia. Survivors: his children, Tamara (Rex) Hagerman, Richard (Alena) Wallace, Leslie Wallace; grandchildren, Eva and Nicholas Wallace, Satawna Stumblingbear, Elizabeth Serrano; great-grandchildren, Arianna, Leland, Brady, Mowgli and Tookie; brothers, Dr. Wayne Jr and Charles Wallace, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made in Fred’s name to the charity of your choice.

  2. Dad, this wasn’t the way this trip was supposed to go. You were always there for me. Through the experimental cooking to helping me replace the rickety plastic roof covering on the garden shed, which turned out wasn’t attached to the rest of the building like it was supposed to be, swaying every time we climbed up on it. So many phone calls in the middle of the night asking you questions because I would wait until the very last minute to file my taxes. You are going to be missed so much! I love you, Dad.
