Phyllis Haag Wilson

July 9, 1923 ~ December 9, 2020
Phyllis Haag Wilson, our wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was taken into the arms of our loving God on December 9, 2020, in her 97th year.
Born the first of 14 children on July 9, 1923 to John and Irma Haag in Olpe, KS, she certainly helped raise some of her brothers and sisters. She married John C. Wilson, Jr. on July 9, 1943 and they began their adventure raising 5 children: Marsha, Philip, Brian, Mark, and Patrick in Wichita. A devout Catholic, she sang in the choir and was active in the Altar Society at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where she and her husband John were charter parishioners. She enjoyed sewing projects, dancing, and loved the many large family gatherings.
Preceding her in death were son, Mark, and his wife, Angel; her beloved husband, John; and 8 of her younger siblings. She is survived by her sisters and brothers, Wilma Flattery, Marilyn Allen, Carol Hurley, Michael Haag OSF, and Richard Haag; her grandchildren, Luci, Sam, Evan, Josh, and John; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held Tuesday, December 15, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1321 N. Stratford Ln., Wichita, KS 67206. Rosary will be at 10:00 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 am. No flowers, please.
This matriarch of the large Haag family now sings, dances, and embraces her many loved ones in heaven with our most wonderous God!
Services in care of Downing & Lahey East Mortuary.
