Joyce Lee (Knoy) Middleton

Joyce Lee (Knoy) Middleton was born in 1927 in Monrovia, CA to Faye and Cecil Knoy. She passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Wichita, KS. The family came to Kansas in 1932 to help farm the Knoy family farm. Joyce attended one year of Dodge City Community College before going to work at Southwestern Bell. There she met a coworker, David Middleton. They were married in 1948 and remained married 54 years until David’s death in 2002. During their life together they lived in Dodge City, Hutchinson, and Wichita. Joyce worked at the Pizza Hut Corporate Offices in Wichita as an Executive Secretary for 18 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and their friends. Joyce was an avid reader, animal lover, and needlepointer. Joyce is survived by her three children, Todd (wife, Becky), Teri, and Trisha; and her three grandchildren, Lauren, Ben, and Marley. Joyce was a kind and generous person. She was greatly loved by her friends and family and will be sorely missed. Memorial Service will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 8, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
