Phyllis Jean Rhoades

Phyllis Jean Rhoades, 85, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2021. Funeral Service, 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 7, at New Life Covenant Church. Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 a.m., in Kechi Cemetery. Phyllis was a retired owner and operator of various restaurants in the Wichita area and a farm wife in the Quinter, Kansas area. After retirement, Phyllis continued her love for cooking, especially providing her homemade baked goods and pies for family and church gatherings. She also enjoyed working and maintaining a well-manicured lawn with various kinds of plants and flowers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna Mae Rhoades; husband, Wayne Rhoades, and 2 sisters. Survivors: sons, Clarence (Jill) Rymer, Michael (Janell) Hyatt all of Wichita, Jimmie (Shelley) Hyatt of Castle Rock, CO, Timmie Hyatt of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Tammie (Jeff) Rasmussen of Valley Center; step-daughter-in-law, Gail Rhoades of Quinter, KS; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
