Helen "Margaret" Wiley, 79, died Monday, January 3, 2021. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 10, 2021; Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Monday, January 11, 2021, both at Church of the Magdalen Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, Byron Aurand Wiley; parents, Raymond and Helen Hoffman. Survived by her sisters, Molly (Azey) Stephens, Anne (John) Baker; sons, Chris (Jen) Wiley of Seattle, WA, Ray Wiley of Xenia, OH, Peter (Mikel) Wiley of Beaver Creek, OH; daughter, Helen "Peggy" Margaret (Richard) Suniga of Wichita; grandchildren, Aaron (Megan) Schwarz, Alexandra Steele, Harrison Steele, Veronica Suniga, Dominic Suniga, Lucia Suniga, Kathryn Wiley, Ben Wiley, Emiley Wiley, Lisa (Geoff ) Wiley, Ross (Elisha) Wiley, Taylor Wiley, Jonah Wiley, Hannah Wiley, Conner Wiley, Kory Wiley; great-grandchildren, Ronan Steele Westerberg, Azul Hernandez, Cheyenne Wiley, Charlotte Wiley, Carolina Wiley. A memorial has been established with Holy Savior Catholic Church, 3000 E. 13th St. N., Wichita, KS 67214. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

  1. Our condolences to Margaret’s family on her untimely death this week. We met her as we were on her neighborhood walking route and often visited as she passed by. Recently we received a note from her that said she prayed for us daily and wished us well during out current challenges – a very sweet woman with a loving spirit. We will miss her (and her walking stick). -Loretta & Alan Phares

  2. Over the last year we really got to know her. She loved Halloween and passing out her note about the meaning of All Saints Day. This last year we invited her to the Rockwood parking lot for a Covid style Trunk or Treat. She made personal candy bags for our kids. She took walks everyday with her walking stick and always stopped to say hello. She will be missed.
