I remember Steve as a soft spoken kind and caring man. I enjoyed hearing his stories of his boyhood in Jasper county. I loved his laugh!
I was interested to hear of stories about growing up in Jasper County. As first grandchildren of Sheriff Bill Bryan (1946) and Nell Tarr Bryan, I bet we both told the story of Thanksgiving dinner at jail. Mom Bryan fed the prisoner upstairs before both families had dinner. Yes, she cooked for prisoners. The brick 2 story building still stands. Facebook has allowed me to catch up with families of Steve, Jeanette and A.C. In recent years. I appreciate the shared experiences. A life well lived is a blessing as a life lost brings sadness with memories to share as we continue our paths. May God bless you! Paula (Robards) Becker
Barbara Jean, Becky, Bonnie and Families There is a strong bond between your family and our going back many years. Know that we are with you at this sad time even if we have to be at a distance now. May you be surrounded by God’s love and grace. The Gerteis Family Ann, Bob, Steve and Mark
Sending my regrets for not being able to be there in person today. I always enjoyed talking with uncle Steve when you all came to visit. We will miss him so much!
