Bobbie Kay (Swiler) Leverich was born in Wichita, KS on December 7, 1945 to Robert Dale and Thais Nadine (Cline) Swiler. She died Monday, February 8, 2021 in Ashland, KS. She graduated from East High School in Wichita, KS in 1963. Bobbie went on to attend Pittsburg State University where she met and soon married Robert "Bob" Leverich in 1965. They had three children, Michael, Jennifer, and Gayle Renee. Throughout her life, Bobbie had many jobs including librarian, store clerk, farmer, llama farmer, owner of Zeke's Quick Stop in Bucklin, KS, and secretary for Bucklin Tractor. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bucklin, East Heights United Methodist Church in Wichita, United Methodist Women, and a bridge club. Bobbie loved her time with family and friends. She could often be found playing cards or board games, or completing puzzles. She had an amazing green thumb, planting many plants, flowers, and gardens over the years. Bobbie had a strong passion for the outdoors where she enjoyed fishing and hiking. Her home was always decorated for the holidays and she loved reading. Bobbie always had a book with her, even reading on her Kindle up to her final days. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Gayle, who died in infancy. She is survived by her children, Michael (Brenda) Leverich of Wellington, and Jennifer (Keith) Baker of Ashland, KS; grandchildren, Matthew Leverich, Jacob Leverich, Katy Baker, Addison Baker, Austin Baker, Kyle Baker, Kale (Tori) Baire, Paul Jacobs, Cole Jacobs, Deric Hibbs, Briawna Bain, Ashley Thompson, Mandy Foss; 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, February 19, 2021, from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, with family present from 4:00 - 6:00 pm; Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 20, 2021, both at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. The Funeral Service will be Live Streamed and available to view by clicking "Watch Event" below. Graveside Service will follow at 2:00 pm at Fredonia City Cemetery, Fredonia, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Botanica, 701 Amidon St., Wichita, KS 67203; and ALS Association, 3450 N. Rock Rd. #211, Wichita, KS 67226.
