Janell Kay Rangel, 68, loving wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021. Janell was born in Hutchinson, Kansas, on June 23, 1952. Her family later moved to Monterey, California, where she lived until she was 18. They moved back to Hutchinson for a while before spending 16 years in Dodge City, Kansas. After Dodge City, Janell settled in Wichita, Kansas, where she remained for over 20 years. Janell married Danny on December 11, 1981, in Dodge City. She was a housekeeper most of her life and a darn good one at that. She was a cat lover, enjoyed dancing, thunderstorms and crafts, especially anything with an angel. Janell and Danny also loved to travel when they could and had hoped to travel to Niagara Falls as this was something Janell really wanted to see. Janell was known for keeping her home in immaculate condition. She was also a very good cook and always made sure there was enough for everyone. She was known for her enchiladas and beef jerky. Janell was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Lucille Devine; sister, Patricia Devine Nicholas; brothers, Danny, Ronnie and David Devine. She is survived by her husband of almost 40 years, Danny Rangel of Wichita, Kansas; sister, Tammie Lange; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and friends. Arrangements by Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.
