James J. Roths
retired Army veteran, passed away surrounded by loved ones, Monday, April 26, 2021, at the age of 86. Rosary, 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 30; Funeral Mass, 10:00 am, Saturday, May 1, both at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Marguerite Roths; wife, Juanita Roths; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine (Francis) Halda, Marie (Joe) Konecny, Peggy (Herbert) Connor, Bertha (William) Catt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gilbert (Phyllis) Roths, William (Jeanne) Roths, Robert (Beverly) Roths, and brother, Melvin Roths. He is survived by sons, James (Donna) Roths Jr. of Powell Butte, OR, John (Donna) Roths of Draper, UT; sister, Sister Tarcisia Roths of Wichita, KS; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Minnie Roths of West Chester, OH. James' legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew him. A memorial will be established with Alzheimer's Association, 1820 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67214. Downing & Lahey Mortuary West.

Jim came to the West Y pool every Wednesday and enjoyed singing with Betty and Kirsten. He was not tall but loved the deep end of the pool, so we all kept an eye out. Many times, he and I raced to the shallow end. He was always up for a good race. Sorry for your loss; he was such a happy guy.
Rest James, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. Career U.S. Army.
