Donald William Mallonee, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021. He was born in Independence, Kansas, to Leo and Gladys Mallonee. After graduating from Independence High school in 1947, he attended Independence Junior College, before being drafted into the Army during the Korean conflict. After returning from Korea, he earned his degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Wichita University and started working for Cessna Aircraft company. While at WU, Don met his future wife, Linda Lee Barrington, and they were married in November of 1958. Through the years, Don was an avid patron of the Wichita Symphony and an active member of University Friends Meeting. Don retired in 1998 after 42 years with Cessna Aircraft. He continued living in Wichita. Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Linda; sons, Philip, Mark and Paul; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Visitation, 3:00-5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 5, at Downing & Lahey Mortuary West. Service, 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 6, at University Friends Church. Memorial established with University Friends Church, 1840 University Ave., Wichita, KS 67213.
