John M. Reiff

John M. Reiff, 82, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2021. A celebration to honor John will be held, Saturday, July 10, 2021, at the Wichita Country Club from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. John was born on March 22, 1939, in Wilmington, DE, to Almer and Marian (Porter) Reiff. John attended the University of Kansas where he earned an undergraduate degree in business followed by a law degree. John was a sports enthusiast and a fervent fan of Kansas basketball and Wichita State baseball. John worked for most of his career at the Coleman Company as an attorney, rising to Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel. He was subsequently President of Sheldon Coleman Enterprises and President of Big Dog Motorcycles. John was a generous volunteer and leader at several local charities, including Friends of the Wichita Public Library, The Kansas Eye Bank and Heartspring. He and his wife, Lorene, enjoyed scuba diving, snow skiing, travel, and many lake activities. He is survived by his wife, Lorene Valentine; his children (with his first wife, Vicky), John Jr. (Heidi), Angie (Steve) Siegel, and Cindy (Mike) George; stepchildren, Lezli (Aaron) Carson and Scott (Melissa) Valentine; grandchildren, Charlie and Will Siegel, Everett Reiff, Hadley and Rowen Carson, Liam and Stella (deceased) Valentine; and his sister, Susie (Hal) Brown. John will be greatly missed by family, friends, and his community. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of the Wichita Public Library or the Alzheimer’s Association.
