Riley Pankey, loving husband, father, grandfather, and faithful friend, 86, Entrepreneur, died Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was known for his love of golf, grandchildren, Gin Rummy, butter, and especially God. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, Friday, August 6, 2021, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, August 7, 2021, at the Chapel at Central Christian Church. Service will be live streamed at https://livestream.com/cccevents/memorials. Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Pankey; parents, Lavon Pankey and Helen Ward; sister, Vesta Ewing. Survived by his daughters, Kim (Dan) Sullivan of Bel Aire, KS, Tamara (Andrew) Engel of Seattle, WA; son, Steve (Janet) Pankey of Wichita; grandchildren, Jason Sullivan, Brandon (Aimee) Sullivan, Kristin Pankey, Michelle (Jordan) Kinnevan, Hans Engel; great-grandchildren, Brayden Dennis, Kynadee Sullivan, Chayse Sullivan, Kenzie Kinkaid, Addie Kinkaid, Millie Jane Kinnevan; and many lifelong friends. Riley and I became acquainted about 15 years ago. He was the nicest, soft spoken man I think I have ever met. Going to the casino will never be the same, not seeing Riley sitting at the UTH table will be so sad. He will be missed by all who knew him. My sincere sympathy to all of his family.
