Sanford Lee Greenberg, 90, died Wednesday, September 22, 2021 in Plano, TX. Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, September 27, 2021, at Wichita Hebrew Cemetery. Sanford was born February 14, 1931 in Tulsa, OK to Lester and Sarah Greenberg, who precede him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Elton “Buddy” and Paul Greenberg. Survived by his daughter, Wendy (Mike) Odell of McKinney, TX; son, Jeff (Laurie Logue) Greenberg; grandchildren, Shelby (Daniel) Ramirez, Jordan (Patrick) Germaine; nephews, Michael Greenberg, Sheldon Greenberg. The Greenberg family moved to Wichita in 1940. Sandy went on to attend Kemper Military School in 1948, the University of Oklahoma in 1949, the University of Florida, Coral Gable in 1952, and graduated from the University of Miami in 1954. He always had a passion for flying and in 1953, while at the University of Florida, he earned his flying license. He then went on to get his commercial, multi-engine, and private instrument rating license. Following graduation he entered the US Army at Fort Lee, VA. During his time in the military, he received the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and was honorably discharged in 1956. In 1957, Sanford purchased Wichita Building Material Company. He would own and operate this company for 31 years until 1988 at which time he started buying and selling airplanes. In 2016 he moved to Plano, TX where he resided until his death.
