While at Emporia State University John met Arlene, the love of his life and they were married in 1966. John enlisted in the United States Navy where he served four years before transferring to the United States Air Force, completing a twenty-one-year military career. In retirement, this tradition continued with his six grandchildren as he never missed a school activity, dance recital or sporting event…. he even followed them across the country. When John wasn’t busy with family activities, he loved watching his Kansas City Chiefs and has been a season ticket holder for the past eighteen years. 1. So sorry for your loss, Arlene. I always enjoyed visiting with you and John when you called for service.

  2. I am so sorry to read about John’s passing from this life. As a closely knit member of the Wellington Class of 1961, John will be greatly missed. He always had a warm smile and a story from our memories together at WHS. RIP, John, and my sincere condolences to your wife and children!

  3. John trained me at the REC and he always had his toys that he would slam on the desk and it would make silly noises. He was a great guy and he will be missed by all. RIP John

  4. Rest John, until you hear at dawn, the low, clear reveille of God. Thank you for your service to this nation. Career U.S. Air Force, and four years in the U.S. Navy.
