Sharon Lee Gates, 80, loving wife, mother, nana & friend, retired medical office manager, died Sunday, January 16, 2022. Sharon was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and a Mary Kay consultant. Preceded in death by her parents, Leland C. and Thelma Silver. Survived by her husband, Gary Kimball Gates of Wichita, KS; son, Jeff (Leslie) Gates of Livermore, CA; daughters, Kimber Lee (John) Shannon of Overland Park, KS, Renee Lynn (Mark) Standiford of Wichita, KS; granddaughters, Taylor Jones, Caroline Shannon, Natalie Shannon, Angela Gates; grandsons, Blake Standiford, Jacob Gates; numerous relatives & friends. COVID friendly (masks required) come & go viewing will be Sunday, January 23, 2022, 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Memorial Service will be at a later date at First Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: Midian Shrine Plane of Mercy, 130 N. Gary and family, we at Midian can’t begin to express how much Sharon will be missed. She was a lovely person and a great First Lady. Sending many prayers your way.

I loved Sharon so much. Met her shortly after Lou & I were married. Gary and Sharon ask us to be on Gary’s Divan in 2005. I barely knew what the Shrine was. I always told her she was my idol. Such a classy lady and such a wonderful person as well. Will certainly miss her. Sue Sheets

The Gates were good neighbors. I moved from that area many years ago and haven’t seen them for some time but have pleasant memories of the family. Condolences to all Bob Bequette
