Alvin F. Ekengren Jr., 89, retired Computer Repairman, died Monday, January 31, 2022. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Preceded in death by his sons, Gary Ekengren, Ben Ekengren; wife, Gail Ekengren; daughter, Geneva Ekengren; parents, Alvin F., Sr. and Geneva. Survived by his sons, Hugh (Francie) Ekengren of Wichita, KS, Neal (Yiyica) Ekengren of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Ian (Rachel) Clark, Erika Ekengren, Adam Ekengren, Asa Ekengren, Ben Ekengren, Chris Ekengren, Jeremy Ekengren, Savannah Tierney, Jessica Culey. A memorial has been established with: Grace Presbyterian Church, 5002 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS 67208. Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

Was sadden to hear that Alvin, Hugh Ekengren’s father, passed. Although we do not know Alvin personally, we do know Alvin’s son Hugh and his kind-heartedness and compassionate ways for caring for others. To us, we know that many of Hugh’s talents and skills were inherited or instilled from his father. Hugh, we are so sorry for the loss of your father and hope you feel his presences daily in all that you do and share with those around you and your family.
