Stella Mae Nichols, 104, died Friday, March 11, 2022.
Open viewing Tuesday, March 15, from 1pm to 8pm and Wednesday, March 16, from 9am to noon, at Downing & Lahey East Mortuary. Graveside Service will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. The graveside service will be closed casket.
She was born on January 15, 1918 in Green Forest, AR to Clem and Flossie Elizabeth Whiteley.
She joined Church of God Holiness at age 12 and was a resident of Berryville, AR until her marriage to Arnold Nichols, when she moved to Wichita.
Preceded in death by her parents, Clem and Flossie Elizabeth Whiteley; husband, Arnold A. Nichols; two brothers, Billy Joe and Lester (Mutt) Whiteley.
Survived by her son, David Nichols of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Briana (Christopher) Johns of Wichita, David Paul (Amanda) Nichols of Derby, Douglas (Candise) Nichols of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Johns, Breia Johns, Naomi Nichols, Maverick Nichols, Kiara McNabb, Weston Smith, and Teagan Ibarra.
A memorial has been established with Active Aging Publishing, 125 S West St Ste 105, Wichita, KS 67213.

I am very sorry for your loss, she lived a long time and must have effected several lives. My maiden name is also Nichols, and I try to do the family genealogy. If you have anyone in your family that also does and would like to share please let me know. My father was from the Noel Missouri area.
