Larry W. Blankenship

Larry was born on November 20, 1942, in Lyons, KS, the youngest of three children to William and Edna (White) Blankenship.
Larry served in the U.S. Army from May 20, 1964, through May 10, 1966, then began his nearly 40-year career with KP&L/Westar Energy starting out as a lineman and retiring in management. He married Merilyn “Beth” Ward on November 19, 1966.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Beth, of the home; daughter, Julie (Scott) Sackrider, Lawrence, KS; son, Ward (Jennifer) Blankenship, Overland Park, KS; granddaughters, Rebekah (Ross) Clouse-Westervelt, Lakewood, CO; Finley Blankenship, Overland Park, KS; brother, Gary (Karol) Blankenship, Shell Knob, MO; sister, Dee (Clarence) Poppelreiter, Holyrood, KS; numerous nephews, nieces, friends, and beloved dogs, Jade and Reno.

Graveside Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 9th at Geneseo Cemetery, Geneseo, Kansas.
I remember you and Larry and his underwear caper, it still makes me laugh. He was the best.
