Opal Burns, 91, of Wichita, Kansas, peacefully left our presence, at her home, on June 22, 2022. Opal was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, brother, Doyle and sister, Vonda. Survivors include brothers, Darryl (Patti), Mike (Rhonda); children, Vivian Jewell (Bret Whitehead), Greg (Carol), Kevin (Melissa); grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin; great grandchildren, twins, Jay and Lillian. Visitation will be 2:00 to 8:00 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel, Rosary 3:00 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022 and Celebration of Life, 3:30 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with Phoenix Home Care & Hospice, 3450 N. Rock Road, Bldg 200, Suite 213, Wichita, Kansas 67226 or Alzheimer’s Association, Central & Western Kansas, 1820 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, Kansas 67214.
