Walter Mays, 81, Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Wichita State University, died Monday, July 11, 2022. Private Graveside Service for family. A musical celebration of life will take place at a later date. Preceded in death by his parents, Juano and Lucille Mays. Survived by his wife, Mary Mays of Wichita; daughters, Lisa Mays of Lakeside Village, TX, Susan (Eric) Johnson of Overland Park, KS; grandson, Sven Johnson; brother, John (Bobbie) Mays of Pinson, TN. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
