  1. My son colton goldsberry was in her class. . He really got attached to her and really enjoyed her he never really opened up to nobody but he did her he surely is taking this very difficult and hard he talks about her a lot he watches for her and he’s going to miss her so much.

  2. Shawna’de opened my world to special education during my first year of teaching. She had been my friend ever since. I will miss my unicorn presents on my birthday and randomly throughout the school year. She will forever live in my heart!

  3. Shawna’de was one of a kind. She was a forever learner and loved her school kids like they were her own. She had no problem going the extra-mile for her students to help them be successful in school. I will never forget the year you spent in my 8th grade class and how excited you were to learn math every day. The kids would roll their eyes seeing how excited you were. Shawna’de was a wonderful teacher and a great friend. You will be forever missed.

  4. My name is Brooke Magnuson. I wanted to reach out and tell you how sorry my family was to hear this. When I sat down with my son, Sawyer, to give him the news, he was very unset to here about her passing. He cried and said “If it wasn’t for her, I would never have passed 7th grade. She was the one that made me like reading.”.
She was so kind, understanding and patient with him. As I sit here, listing to my son cry himself to sleep, I’m am touched to know that such a wonderful teacher/person played such a profound role in his life. I am so grateful to have had her in my sons life. She will not be forgotten.

    • I am Mrs. P I have been Mrs. Smith side kick for over five years. We love our kiddos and we enjoyed watching Sawyer grow when he was at CMS please tell him if he needs anything my school email has not changed.

  5. My heart breaks everyday I walk into our classroom that we shared. Shawna’de was there six years ago for my interview at CMS. We have be together since and there is so much I am going to miss about seeing her face everyday. She had an amazing way with our kids. She is one of the reasons I started back in college because I wanted to help students like she did on that level in comparison to my level. I will miss checking on her and making her eat to keep her blood sugar in check, morning conversations, daily snapchats, frequent weekly calls when we were not at work and texts. She has touched so many hearts and will always bein my heart.
