Uncle Ivan didn’t say much, and when he did it was so soft it was sometimes hard to hear. But he lived a big life, from his near-death experience in the military, where he was rescued by his big sister Wellma, to running competitively, and just for the joy of it, far into his 80s. He came along on a Goering family outing to Wales and London in 2014, and on a walk with him along a canal towpath I remember marveling at him hopping nimbly over puddles in our path, even at 85 years old! I have many wonderful memories of him, from riding horses at Leigh and watching him fly his canary-yellow airplane to setting off fireworks and firing up the old family Model T for the Platte Center 4th of July parade. I’m really sorry to lose him but I hope, if there is life on the other side, he is reunited with those he loved so much who went before him, and is back on his feet again, flying along.
A serviceman, aviator, runner, storyteller, mentor, and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and sibling. Uncle Ivan will be missed by more people he had ever imagined. Go in peace and serve the Lord.
Keith & I have such fond memories of Ivan at Avcraft. He was a special member of our airport family that will be missed. He was a gentle, sweet man and we enjoyed watching him fly his Cub. He enjoyed it so! Blue skies and tailwinds, Ivan!
We knew Ivan when he was married to Roger’s Aunt Wilma. A soft spoken, kind gentleman and he did enjoy an interesting life, with knowing how to fly an airplane and an amazing senior runner. How wonderful! We enjoyed knowing Ivan.Thank you Ivan for serving our country and Rest in Heavenly Peace. Now you are flying higher than you ever have! Our caring thoughts extended to his family. Sincerely, Roger and Patty Loseke
I really miss my brother Ivan. We really enjoyed it when he and Andrea came to Seattle for our Apple Cider Pressing Party. Earlier, before he met Andrea, he went with us on our trip to Wales and London. After he broke his hip and moved into a care facility, life was harder. When my brother Rod visited Ivan,Rod would call me on FaceTime, so I got to talk with him and see him from my home in Seattle. We tried to talk about some of the many things we had done together but his memory was fading. I miss him so much. There. are only 2 of our 9 family members left, Rod and me.
