Miles Funk

On Saturday, October 22nd, Miles Funk left his family to be with his Savior Jesus Christ. Miles was born in Concordia, KS on May 19, 1937 to Leslie and Aline Funk. He graduated from Delphos High School and Kansas State University with a Degree in Engineering. He worked at CNH in Wichita for 25 years as Safety/Maintenance Manager. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Warren Funk and granddaughter Brady Stratton. He is survived by his wife Nadine, daughter Kim (Brad) Stratton, sons Alan (Dena) Funk and Kevin (Whitney) Funk, grandchildren DJ Funk, Dallas Funk, Joshua Funk, Whitney Funk, Isaiah Funk, Megan Funk and Corinne Stratton and great grandchildren, Parker Funk, Ellie Funk, Carson Funk, Samson Funk, Dean Funk, Nora Funk and Aleister Funk.Miles was a member of Acacia fraternity at Kansas State University. He tried out for the K-State basketball team and had to play against Bob Boozer (Olympic Gold medalist and NBA player) to make the team. The coach was Tex Winters at that time. He didn’t make the team but last one to be cut.He was actively involved in Westlink/Pathway church as an elder, forwarding agent for missionary in Mexico, Sunday School teacher and active member for over 45 years. He helped initiate Northwest HS Booster Club. He volunteered with Junior Achievement through his work, J.I. Case. He started a side business called Innovative Products, which manufactured lid dispensers for tea and coffee.Miles loved to be with family while taking vacations, visiting family in California, Oregon or in Kansas City. Miles and Nadine traveled to numerous college football bowl games and enjoyed the comradery of family and friends on the many bus trips to cheer on his K-State Wildcats. Trips to the college bowl games were their Christmas present to each other for many years.Miles missed his calling as an accountant. His check book in his front shirt pocket was ever present and his wallet was always filled with the sales receipts of the day.After retirement, he joined Gideons International and took on many volunteer leadership roles as well as handing out Bibles to many locations. His main leadership role was the Scripture Chairman for many years.Thank you for your attendance to the Celebration of Life and your support for the Funk Family.
