Nila M. Albrecht, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Celebration of Life will be at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at Downing & Lahey West Mortuary. Nila was born December 11, 1950 to John "Elmer" and Mary (Dooley) Mount in Wichita, Kansas. She married Carl on January 17, 1970 in Excelsior, Minnesota. Nila's hobbies included gardening, cooking, fishing, snowmobiling and quilting. She is preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a son. Survived by husband, Carl; son, Shane (Crystal) Albrecht of Goddard, KS; brother, John Mount of Mt. Airy, NC; grandsons, James LaBelle of Wichita, KS, John (Jerica) LaBelle of Haysville, KS, Jaydon Albrecht of Wichita, KS; great grandson, Spencer LaBelle of Haysville, KS. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with: Ascension Lutheran Church, 842 N. Tyler Rd., Wichita, KS 67212, Victory In The Valley, 3755 E. Douglas, Wichita, KS 67218, Prairie Quilt Guild, P.O. Box 48813, Wichita, KS 67201, and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202.

Hiding in the hay shed.
Catching fireflies after dark.
Spending the night with my second cousin upstairs. Listening to the rain and frogs. Wish I had pictures, guess we were to busy throwing cow patties over the hay bales. Only a little older so never thought of Nila as a second cousin only a cousin. Learned as adults we both love making quilts.
The holidays were great when we all lived in Minnesota. We would get together, each of us would bring a side dish to have with the holiday dinners. Enjoying great family time at a wonderful time of year. Nila’s desserts were amazing!
Our love, prayers and blessings are with all of you. Have peace knowing that God is there to embrace you in his love , strength and peace.

With her Gifts and Talents she Blessed others, Not only did Nila discover that it is indeed more blessed to give than to receive, but that in reality when you give, you receive also. I was one of the blessed ones to receive one of her quilts and 2 quillows, Nila will be remembered forever for her generosity….
