Dr. Phillip M. Allen

Dr. Phillip M. Allen, 95, Pathologist, died Wednesday, February 15, 2023. Funeral Service will be Sunday, February 26, 2023, at 2:00 pm, at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church. Phil spoke 5 languages. He lived in England for a brief time, while there he translated Russian Medical documents for the U.S. Government. He traveled in several countries in Europe and traveled to South America, as far South as Peru to Machu Picchu. After coming home, he married June Stone and did advanced education at the University of Virginia before coming to work as a Pathologist in Wichita. At Wesley Pathology Consultants, PA, he became chief of Dermatopathology and taught chemistry and biomedical statics at Wichita State University. Phil was a very active and dedicated member of the Board of Directors of Kansas Health Ethics, Inc. for over ten years. After June’s death he moved to Larksfield where mutual friends introduced him to Linda. After they were married, they moved out of Larksfield. He is survived by his wife, Linda C. Allen of Wichita; nephew, Mark Miller (Linda) Gleaves of OH. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.

Phil was a very active and dedicated member of the Board of Directors of Kansas Health Ethics, Inc. during the ten years I worked there. He was a wonderfully kind person with a great sense of humor, and I was very sorry to read of his passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Peggy Mishler
