Christopher Patrick Rogers, 41, passed away March 4, 2023. Chris was born to Michael and Teresa Rogers in Wichita on March 29, 1981. He lived in the Wichita-Andover area all his life. Christopher graduated from Andover High School and by 2006 found his career in Emergency Services. At his passing he was a Sedgwick County 911 Emergency Dispatcher Supervisor Lieutenant. Chris appreciated the opportunity to serve as a post-trauma peer counselor and assisting others process the stress and crises dispatchers face in their work. Christopher had a collection of friends with whom he was very close. Some he knew and held tight to from his earliest days, some from school or work and many from his affiliations in the community. Chris was a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, a member of a Masonic lodge and part of the Boy Scouts of America.Chris was a member of Pyramid Lodge #451 A.F. & A.M. in Wichita. He began his journey May 21, 2019 and was raised to the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on July 23, 2019. During the election of officers in 2020, Chris was elected and served the Craft as treasurer for that year.In Boy Scouts he earned Eagle Scout rank with Troop 533 in Andover. More recently he was very proud to share scouting and BSA Troop/Pack 533 with his beloved son, Jacob. Chris was happy to serve the kids learning important life skills to be part of their community. Christopher’s son Jacob was the light of his life. He enjoyed accompanying Jake through all the accomplishments and stages of his young life. Whether they were checking out games, taking in a movie, cooking, camping, fishing, working on homework, church or scouting projects, or training their giant puppy, Alvin, Chris was devoted to his son.Christopher was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Teresa and Les Ryther; his son, Jacob Rogers; his brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Jacque Rogers; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Anne and Mark Elsworth, and Beth and Steve McCann; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Memorials have been established with: St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 7404 E. Killarney Place, Wichita KS 67206; and Boy Scout Troop/Pack 533 c/o Quivira Council, 3247 N.
