Paul A. Eck

Paul A. Eck, 89, president and owner, with wife Bettie, of Eck & Eck Machine Co. Inc., went home to the Lord Monday, March 27, 2023. Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2023, Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am, Friday, April 14, 2023, both at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Paul and Bettie were married for nearly 65 years and were inseparable; working, loving, and serving others side-by-side. Paul was the Heart of the family. His heart touched all who came in contact with him and beyond. He was a faithful son of Our Mother Mary. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Paul served in the Army during the Korean War and was deployed to Korea with the Army Engineer Specialty Unit assigned to the Air Force, SCARWAF, where he was in charge of building critical infrastructure. He was a past Grand Knight of K of C Council 4118, and past Faithful Navigator of 4th Degree Assembly 287. Paul and his wife participated in implementing the Stewardship Way of Life in the Wichita Diocese. They were active in the Serra Club promoting religious vocations. Preceded in death by his parents, Ferdinand Charles Eck and Rose Ann Eck; sisters, Donna Mae Peters, Ann Margaret Brown, Mary Lou Martin; brothers, Donald Eck, Maurice Eck, Charles Eck. Survived by his wife, Bettie; daughters, Cathy (Brad) Somes, Becky (John) Brummett; brothers, Matt "Sonny" (Pat) Eck and Kenny Eck; grandchildren, Jacob (Alison) Somes, Katy Somes, Luke (Samantha) Somes, Christina Brummett, Marcus (Leah) Somes, Monica Brummett, Hannah (Derek) Haas, Maria Somes, Joshua Brummett, Justus Somes, Nicholas Brummett, Isaac Somes; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Blaise, Samuel, Rosie, Violet, Olive. Memorials have been established with: St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church 3642 N. Ridge Rd., Wichita, KS 67205, Guadalupe Clinic 940 S. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67211, and The Lord's Diner 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214. Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - West Chapel.

We have so loved going to the same mass every week as Paul & Bettie. What an example of never ending love they have been to us. Prayers for you Bettie, & your family. May God help you through this time until you meet Paul again.
