Elizabeth Josephine (Betty Jo) Peters Bauer passed away peacefully in her home at the age of 92 on June 19th, 2023. A Rosary will be held at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 27th, 2023, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Betty Jo was born on November 23rd, 1930, in Wichita, KS to her parents, George and Amelia Peters. The 2nd oldest of 6 children, she attended Blessed Sacrament grade school followed by Cathedral High School and graduated in 1948. While on a blind date, she met the love of her life, Harold V. Bauer, and they married on April 25th, 1953. They had twin sons, Greg and Gary, followed by their daughter, Julie.
Betty Jo devoted her life to her home and family. A superb homemaker, she had many talents including gourmet cooking, gardening, decorating, and hosting many family and friend extravaganzas. She organized a bridge group, who remained life long friends for over 45 years. She was known for her quail and pheasant dinner parties, her opulent holiday decorating and her beautiful flower arranging.
She will be missed immensely by those who loved and knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bauer. She is survived by her sons, Greg (Jan) and Gary; daughter, Julie; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; as well as her brother, Bill Peters.
