Lori Ann Supinie, age 63, of Wichita, KS, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, in Wichita. She was born in Joliet, IL on November 5, 1959, to the late Dale Runty and Mabel Runty. Lori attended Coal City, IL area schools and earned a B.S. at the University of Illinois, and an M.B.A. at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She married Andy Supinie on May 31, 1980. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Andy; mother-in-law Betty Supinie of Lawrenceville, IL; two children, Tim (Heather) Supinie of Norman, OK and Julie (Andrew) Scherer of Lyons, KS; three grandchildren, Mark, Daniel, and Luke Scherer. She is also survived by siblings Joanne (Steven, deceased) Schenck, Colorado Springs, CO; Bob (Paula) Runty, Covington, LA; Tom (Janet) Runty, Maple Park, IL; Karen (Richard) Jordan, Plano, TX; Richard (Mary Beth) DeGrush, New Lenox, IL; Aunt Barbara Runty, Manhattan, IL; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Lori was preceded in death by her parents, Dale Runty and Mabel Runty DeGrush, her step father, Ampheon “Barney” DeGrush; and her father-in-law, Frank Supinie. Lori was a wonderful daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Above all she was a good friend to everyone she met. Lori loved her family, her friends and her faith. She loved traveling, and she absolutely loved making and listening to music. She was the owner of Senseney Music Inc., a retailer of musical instruments, which won the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Dealer of the Year award in 2011. Lori was widely respected in the music industry, where she had held numerous board positions on state and national music organizations and had just finished a term as chair of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra board of directors. She was a past board member of NAMM and the National Association of School Music Dealers and a past president of the Retail Print Music Dealers Association. Lori was a music minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, regularly playing piano at Mass, and was principal bassoonist with the Senseney Music Community Band. Additionally, she played piano accompaniment for students participating in school regional solo and ensemble contests. Lori will be remembered on Tuesday, July 18, beginning with a rosary at 9:30 am and a funeral Mass at 10:00 am, both at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 645 N 119th Street in Wichita. Lori will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery at 1640 N Maize Rd. A luncheon at the parish hall at the church will follow.
