Ricky Dean Clevenger

July 26, 1977 ~ October 12, 2021
Retired US Army Staff Sergeant Ricky Dean Clevenger, 44 found peace in his soul surrounded by his sister, Stacy Clevenger and beloved canine companion, Matthew, in his home on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Throughout his career, Ricky earned the following: Army Commendation Medal (twice), Army Achievement Medal (six times), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (twice), Parachutist Badge, and Driver and Mechanic Badge.
He was preceded in death by both his grandparents, Burl and Beverly Clevenger and Stephen and Isabel Terronez; and Uncle Carlos Terronez.
Ricky was born July 26, 1977 in Wichita, KS. After joining the Army, living several places his final residence which he called home was in Spring Lake, NC.
Ricky or Rick as some know him was a fun, caring and loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He loved his children, Logen and Anna very much. "They're my world!" Ricky will be greatly missed by those who understood and loved him dearly.
Ricky is survived by his mother, Cynthia Clevenger; sisters: Stacy Clevenger; Angi Daurer (Steve); nephew, Jordan Daurer; children, Logen Clevenger and Anna Clevenger; former spouse Heather Clevenger; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends through the years.
