Noemi Meece, a woman of courage, passion, and love, passed away September 9, 2023 in Wichita, Kansas after a long and courageous battle with several debilitating diseases. Born in Chinandega, Nicaragua on August 22, 1950, Noemi would later became a proud naturalized U.S. citizen and a force of positivity and an embodiment of strength throughout her life.Noemi was an incredibly dedicated and loving mother to her two sons, Alex and Andrew Meece, both of Wichita and a proud grandmother to Ryan Meece of Wichita. Noemi devoted her life to her family and was actively involved in her Parish as a cub scout leader and den mother. She took great joy in getting her sons to as many activities and experiences as possible, always eager to broaden their horizons. Noemi was a Public School Elementary Educator and Family Coordinator for Cooper Elementary in the Derby School District. Her passion for education was evident in her dedication to her students and their families. During this time, she made lasting friendships with her fellow teachers and touched many families with her advocacy for helping those in need.Beyond her professional life, Noemi had a keen interest in gardening, home renovation, and art. Her home was a testament to her artistic flair and her love for nature, filled with restored furniture and thriving plants. She was a master of transforming spaces, whether it was a classroom or a living room, into environments that inspired growth and creativity. Noemi leaves behind a legacy of strength and bravery. Her life is a story of determination and will. Later in life she battled many health problems, but she would always find a smile and kind word for the many that knew her. Noemi Meece was more than just a beloved family member, an educator, or a friend; she was a beacon of positivity and strength, and she will be deeply missed.Rosary will be at 6:30 pm, Thursday, September 14, 2023; Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am, Friday, September 15, 2023, both at All Saints Catholic Church.Services in care of Downing & Lahey Mortuary - East Chapel.
